Hong Kong moves fast—but if you know where to look, it’s one of the best places to reset. This is where I go when I’m back in the city: Traditional Chinese Medicine clinics that locals actually trust, bodywork that delivers, and simple rituals that keep everything in balance. No trends, no guesswork—just the places I return to, every time.

SYT Wellness (Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic)
Dr Zhang Yong
Address: 11F, Henan Building, 90 Jaffe Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong
Hours 9:30am – 7:00pm
Tel +852 2736 7473
No trip to Hong Kong is complete without a trip to a traditional Chinese medicine clinic. A calm and scholarly doctor of few words, Dr Zhang Yong specializes in acupuncture, spinal health, bone-setting, and pain management. You may find yourself lying down next to movers and shakers in Hong Kong who are devout regulars.

承德堂 Cheng De Tang (Traditional Chinese Medicine Clinic)
The Late Dr. Ma Hon Chau
Address: Flat J, 1/f, 15 Jordan Road, New Lucky House, Kowloon, Hong Kong
Hours: Mon-Thu 14.30-18.30
Tel +852 2770 5100
Master Ma himself sadly passed but his business partners continue to run the clinic like clockwork. Master Ma was called a “Shen Yi” (God Doctor) by the Hong Kong paparazzi for his energy-based healing work that extended beyond the physical. Be prepared for a long wait as its first come first served (go early) and don’t expect any privacy – you sit stool to stool in one big room.

Bowen Road Fitness Trail
My two regular trails in Hong Kong are the hike up The Peak (the steep incline works wonders for your glutes) and the Bowen Road Fitness Trail (for a flat power walk). Take a taxi to the beginning of Bowen Road where it meets Stubbs Road roundabout (near Adventist Hospital) and start walking. Enjoy the changing city landscape from Wanchai to above Central, where I turn around and walk back, clocking in an easy 10,000 steps.
The Mandarin Spa at The Mandarin Oriental
Address: 5 Connaught Road, Central
Tel +852 2825 4888
The Mandarin Spa at the Mandarin Oriental is one of those long-standing Hong Kong institutions. It leans heavily into Traditional Chinese Medicine, with treatments focused on restoring balance through acupressure, cupping and other bodywork. The space has a 1930s Shanghai feel—polished, classic, slightly indulgent.
It’s expensive, so plan around it. Arrive early and use the full facilities—sauna, jacuzzi, Chinese steam room—before your treatment.

LammaRainbow Seafood Restaurant
Address: 23-27 Sok Kwu Wan 1st St, Lamma Island, New Territories
Tel: +852 2982 8100
Take the ferry to Sok Kwu Wan, a small fishing village on a charming bay on Lamma Island, for some of Hong Kong’s freshest seafood. It has been open since I was a little girl, when I would come here regularly on summer weekends. Select your ingredients directly from the live tanks—a true tank-to-table experience.

Ten Feet Tall (Foot Massage)
Address: 139 Queen’s Road Central
Tel. +852 2971 1010
Address: 1/F Lai Shing Building, 13-19 Sing Woo Road, Happy Valley
Phone: 2415 1010
I like to end the weekend with a foot massage at Ten Feet Tall. A good foot massage knocks me out and gives me the best night’s sleep. Make sure to get the Epsom salt foot soak – foot baths are an ancient Chinese practice before bed and help improve circulation and reproductive health.
